I received this item about 4 days ago and am really delighted with the product. I had an Frigidaire FRA073PU1 7,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner and I would never purchase once again. Works well. Here are a few installation tips
I've had this unit for a week or so and it's working very well. Better than expected, in fact. It cools like crazy.

It's not nearly as noisy as I expected after reading some reviews on other sites, but it is a bit noisier than a small window unit. Certainly nothing you can't live with if you need the cooling and don't want to mount a window unit.

To those who may have issues with or questions about the hot air hose or the drainage of condensate water, read on. The user manual is rather skimpy in these places.

First, the hot air hose. When you attach the adapters on each end make sure to stretch out the end of the hose and see that the last coil gets engaged by the internal raised "threads" of the adapter as you screw the adapter on to the hose. Most Underlined Buyer Review : Okay if there are no other options, otherwise go with window AC unit
Despite the poor reviews on portable air conditioners in general, we bought this unit because we couldn't find a window air conditioner that would find in the double hung windows on the sides of our picture window. After running it for 3 days in hot, humid weather, we were very disappointed in it. Here are our main gripes:
1)the vent tube was a real pain to get connected and keep it connected as you placed it into a window
2)the unit is very bulky and takes up a large amount of space
3)the unit is noisy - quite a bit louder than the same btu window air conditioner
4)it takes a very long time for it to cool the room and has to run constantly to keep it cool

We vented it outside and did not have any issues with water accumulating or leaking in the 3 days we ran it. But because it could not cool the room efficiently enough, we returned the unit. We were at Lowes the other day and found a window air conditioner that fit in the window and are much happier...
