Well, after doing a great deal of research and reviewing the reviews below and elsewhere, I decided to purchase Senville 18000 BTU Ductless Air Conditioner and Heat Pump - Energy Star. Though I 'd have liked a better warranty, I decided the functions were attractive enough to attempt it. It is a lot of cash to throw away if it fails simply after the warranty. I am completely in love with this product. It is high quality product, clever features. I simply got it today, and I will upgrade my testimonial later if needed.
Burr Super Cold
I bought the Arua model 21 seer for my living room. I disconnected the American Standard 18 seer central AC because it was an electrical hog!!! In the summer my bills were over $300.00. Now with my super quite super cold Senville mounted on my living wall my bills will sink to under $200.00 per month. I also purchased a 9000btu Senville for my bedroom. At night the 18k goes off and the 9k keeps me cool while I sleep. And come morning the timer on the 18k kicks in and the living, kitchen and office ( approx 600sq ft ) are nice and cool. I'm in heaven!!! Both these units are well made and should give 10 years of service.

Most Underlined Buyer Review : OK but not good
I bought this unit from a small local supplier/installer about 8 months ago and my personal experience so far is not that good. The main problem is an extremely annoying variable high frequency whistle generated at the outside compressor unit and transmitted into the house through the internal heads. I tried to talk to my supplier/installer about this and this led me to think that my five-year parts & labour warranty might not be worth a whole lot more than the paper it's written on - time will tell. The whistle is not there all the time but it shows up too frequently and we find it annoying enough, when the house is quiet, that I'll shut the unit down and rely on my good old fashioned oil burner for heat. When the house is noisy (grandkids, etc running around) the whistle is no problem.
This is my very first heat pump so I don't have much experience with this technology yet. The price of the installed unit is what attracted me and, if it wasn't for the whistling noise,...
